Description
This black and white 6.5" x 10.5" photograph shows East Hall in its earlier days. It was built in 1909 as a residence hall for male students. East Hall was sometimes referred to as the "Cracker Box" by the "Knights," men housed on the fifth floor of the College Building. But residents of East Hall preferred to call it the "White House" and dubbed themselves "Senators." In 1920 it was remodeled and became the normal building and elementary school.
