Title
Union College Library
Description
Construction began in the winter of 1936-1937 on the library building pictured in this 6.5" x 9.5" black and white photograph. The library did not move in until 1940. It was designed to hold 25,000 books. In 1947 Engel Hall was built just to the west of the library in an architectural style complementing the library. When the library outgrew its space an addition was built in 1968 which connected it to Engel Hall. Today the entire complex is known as Engel Hall and houses the Division of Fine Arts.
